Efficient separation membranes are urgently needed, more so than at any point in the history of industrial revolution, to meet the increasing demands for sustainable water sources, resources recovery and therapeutics for an ever-increasing population. The overall objective of the Shevate Lab group is to develop next-generation membranes and coatings for energy efficient membrane separations and to fill the demand and supply gap for sustainable molecular separations. Our research pursuits will be directed towards developing membranes with tailored chemical and physical properties and understanding their fundamental transport properties and applying them in sustainable separation processes.
